Hi everyone

I just wanted a little advice from anyone with me/cfs
I have been diagnosed for 3 months, although its been around a year since it first started, thanks to my programme and work reducing my hours i started to improve and felt 'better' compared to at my worst.

I have fallen pregnant and have my booking in appointment next week. I know its early but I just wondered what anyone said to their midwife... I have decided I want a cs... I weighed up the pros and cons, and although I'd love to give birth naturally, in reality I know I won't have the energy and if I tried it will prob cause a relapse... which will take a lot longer to recover from than the cs itself

Thanks x

Hi

No experience myself but a friend with ME recently gave birth. She needed a bit more help while pregnant and had to really think about what she was capable of doing, eg, could cook dinner and talk to husband but got cleaner in.

She aimed for a home water birth but had SPD so opted for hospital birth in the end and had EMCS due to complications. She doesn't appear to have taken longer to recover from this than other friends.

I think the lack of sleep with a new born was the biggest issue so you'll probably have to be really strict with yourself on napping when you can and getting help with other things so you have the energy to concentrate on baby.

I think the important thing is to have a supportive midwife who can give you good advice. Maybe you can make the decision on having a CS later and see how you feel. I think my friend only made the decision to go to hospital the day before she had the baby!

congratulations and good luck.
