how much bloody show comes out? (TMI...)

I woke up this morning with some bloody show but I'm not sure if this is the real thing or not. It looked exactly how it was supposed to but wasn't very much. Two blobs about the size of a teaspoon each. I've heard the show can be really huge so is this just a little bit of it? Does this mean things are probably still days/weeks away? Thanks for any info!

sounds like mine, wasn't very much. But I had woken with period-type pains too, so there wasn't much doubt in my mind what it was, and through the day they eventually sorted themselves into contractions. I'm sure others have had a show a while before going into labour. Good luck!

mine was quite alot and in the middle of my contractions, if your getting pains aswell its probs not long so best of luck!

I had little bits, about the same amount as you, over a couple of days. About an hour before DS arrived I had a massive amount. I thought my waters had finally gone. Was very annoyed with MW though - was hooked up to monitor on the bed, couldn't move. Voiced my displeasure at the sensation of it coming away, she took a look and said "oh, its just your show" and walked away! DH had to get some tissues to clean it up, there was loads!

If there is one red herring in labour it is your 'show'. I wish no-one was ever told about it as it is almost certainly an indicator of absolutely nowt! It can happen weeks, days, hours before labour or not at all. Regular, painful contractions, 2-3 mins apart. That's the thing to look for Wink

I can't figure out why the books all say once you get the bloody show labour is going to start usually "within 24 hours" to a few days. It says if its clear it can be weeks but if there's blood in it that means things are happening but that doesn't seem to be the case at all from what I've read of people's actual experiences. It's annoying. Why do they say that if it's not true? I'm really hoping it won't be weeks!

I had about that amount and went into labour two days later

Wow I sounded annoyed for no reason apparently! In hospital now after waters gone at 1:45am so there should be a baby in the next day or so. Good luck everyone!
