Due date tomorrow - still no sign of milk - is this normal?

I had expected some sort of "leakage" before going into labour but no sign yet - am now worried I won't be able to BF which I assumed I would do fairly soon after giving birth.

Will the colustrum appear during labour??

Does anyone have any experience to share???

Thanks

I have never "leaked" before birth but successfully fed 4, with an overabundant supply in the first few months.

Never leaked til after I had dcs, and didn't 'see' it til after dcs had arrived and ad started trying to get them to feed. Note 'trying'... ended up expressing and then was waking up in morning with nighties stuck to boobs and stomach with stinky crusty milk. Yum.

Not everyone leaks, don't worry it does not mean you won't be able to feed.

SpangledPandemonium · 04/05/2011 21:46

None for me til babies arrived but plenty thereafter. Don't worry

Didn't leak before birth with DD. No problems BF-ing. Very slight leakage currently (39 weeks pregnant tomorrow).

RobynLou · 04/05/2011 21:49

with DD1 I never leaked at all, when pg, or when bfing, very different with DD2 though!

don't worry, trust your body, it's amazing.

Agree with above!
No sign of milk before dcs were born but, like PorkChopSter, I have successfully fed 4.
So don't worry!
Due date tomorrow - how exciting :) Good luck

another one here, never leaked a drop with either baby then had massive oversupply in early months with both (which caused its own problems but therein lies another tale!) don't worry

Thanks ladies, much appreciated reassurance

Note to self - must stop obsessing about every little thing....

Once the baby comes you will have a whole bunch more little things to obsess about Grin!
