Having had dreadful experience with DD's induction (at 40+4 due to high BP) which lasted 3 days, took 3 lots of gel; drip and ended with her in distress and forceps delivery, I'm really keen to avoid another.
In fact, would have said would avoid full stop.
But now, at 40+11, they've booked me in for one at 40+14 (Tuesday). I had intended to decline, but also don't relish the thought of going up to the hospital for daily monitoring either. Plus, having discussed with DH, inevitably, it could still result in induction, just later on (and, apparently, he can't make any plans until baby arrives
- he got bashed for that comment!).
They didn't sweep me with DD because cervix wasn't favourable and they won't sweep me this time because head is not in pelvis (and as of Thurs, baby was oblique again) - MW coming for another 'look' this morning.
So do you have any better, second time around stories?
Concerned particularly because on Thurs, they said cervix looked firm (despite 3-4 weeks of daily EPO!) and beginning to wonder how/if a 'less interventional' (!) induction could be successful.
