Kensington Wing - "Low Risk"

Does anyone know if they're really strict about being under 37 to be considered "low risk" at C&W Kensington Wing?
I literally turned 38 last week DURING the pregnancy (am now 24 weeks) but this is my 3rd healthy pregnancy, first 2 were uncomplicated vaginal deliveries and I meet all the other criteria. I'd prefer a midwife-led birth if they let me (it's also cheaper!).
Any pointers would be really helpful. Thanksx

Im not sure about Kensington Wing but i had my DD at a birthing suite in birmingham where they wanted only low risk pregnancies and before i went they said anyone classed as overweight couldn't have their babies there but just in the time i was there there were two very overweight ladies in and everything was fine. i asked how come they were there as the 'low risk' thing was banged on about so much and they said because they had babies before with no complication so i would say you should be ok.

Good luck with the birth! xx

you need to be under 37 at the time of delivery to use kensington wing's midwife led care. as you are over you will have to fork out for a consultant too.

as its your 3rd un complicated pregancy, i would phone them up and ask if they would consider you for mdwife led care as you are an old hand at this giving birth thing.

they will probably say no for reasons of professional indemnity insurance but if you dont ask you dont get.

good luck.
