Would love to hear from mothers who have had their babies recently at St Mary's. Will be having a c-section so am interested in the post natal care. Many thanks!

I had both my boys by c-section at St Marys in 2007 and 2009. Both were great experiences. Post op you are placed in a ward with other 'more dependant' patients and I was happy with the aftercare. However, I was also fairly easy going and so were the boys so I didn't need too much from the staff. The only thing I found was the small amount of food available as I got very hungry when my milk came in. Thankfully there is ample food shops at Paddington Station where DH visited frequently.

I had an emcs in 2007 and post-natal was dire. I was in a room with 5 other women and there was no assistance. One women's baby cried all of the 1st night so I got no sleep. DS cried all of the next night so I got no sleep. They also released me with insufficient pain killers.

We were re-admitted 4 days later due to jaundice in ds and there was a bit more assistance but still pretty grim. This time there were 7 other women in the room with me with ds under the lights at the end. You generally had to wait 12 hours to see a paed and some of the staff were appalling. I did get a lovely la leche lady the 2nd time who really helped me feed though.

Saying which I'm pg again and still going back there because I tried UCH and it was much worse!
