Twins at the Royal London???

I am really really worried as I am expecting Identical Twins and have been booked for a c-section at the Royal London in 4 weeks time! I am not at all happy with the standards at the hospital although my scans have been carried out by a Consultant each time! I am now set against the Royal London, CANT STOP WORRYING Sad can anyone reccomend any NHS hopsitals where you have had good experiences or any affordable private hospitals, I will consider private if I have no choice! I know I do not have much time to change but I am sure you all understand its probably worth it!

I had a bad experience with my first at the Royal London (but I have known plenty of people who had good experiences there). However, I didn't want to have my second there. I just asked to be referred to UCH. It was diff as I had a C section 2nd time but the post natal care was SO much better than at Royal London and everywhere was clean and new. To get referred to UCH was really easy I just asked the midwife and she faxed the letter...

the royal free hospital ?

or is there another hospital called the royal hospital?

if it's the royal free i understand where you are coming from and i refused point blank to give birth there. i once witnessed a woman who was pregnant with twins (who was 11 days over due) not be given a c-section when she was begging for one because one of the consultants wanted her to wait till natural labor kicked offand she was writhing in pain with spd/bulk of all the weight and the poor woman was swollen like a a forgotten sausage.

UCH mat wing was still under construction at the time, so couldn't go there.

I went to the chelsea and westminster hospital in south ken/fulham and had a good experience. i did go private, but in hindsight i think their care may have been the same on the nhs wing.

St Thomas was pretty good in 2008 (no idea on how it is now) and their private rates for cs were very good. The doctors I met were very friendly. :)

How about Homerton - also an East London hospital with a new maternity wing. I'm a doula and it's my local and I think it's pretty good.

Postnatal ward isn't brilliant but tbh everyone I know who has been at Royal London hasn't had a great experience so if you feel like changing do.

You can - it's your right!

Thank you so much for all your messages! Squiggley Wiggler, I am tempted to refer myself to the Homerton on your recommendation, can you give me some extra reassurance that this is a good choice.

Thank you again!
