Hey all, I am hoping that some of you may have some advice/esxperience of this.

Baby appears to have back over to my right hand side, head down, and feet higher up on left hand side, so is looking over to my left hip. Head not fully engaged yet. But not fully transverse either.

Midwife did not appear too worried and said that there was plenty time to turn so advised scrubbing floors and getting on birthing ball. However, since getting home today I have logged on and read that many women have had to have c-sections for this?? my midwife didn't mention this to me!

Feeling a bit panicked and upset now.

Do any of you have stories of this, any good positions to try on the birthing ball or whatever, any advice to calm me?? Things have been plain sailing and baby was in perfect position up until this appointment. Thanks.

Panic not. I know, easier said than done.

Get yourself a cup of tea and google "spinning babies" website. It clearly gives you calm sensible easy to read when you're in a panic information, it's perfectly safe and i think the lady who writes it deserves a medal. So many midwives use the site. I used it when I was having my back to back baby two years ago and managed just fine.

Your best way forward is to educate yourself and hold tight to your courage. It will not be as bad as you think.

Best wishes for a calm and memorable birth. I'm up in Fife I'm hoping you've enjoyed some of the sunshine we've been having :)

Thanks for your kind words architien, and the spinning babies website is very good! I wish I had kept more active over the last week as it may have prevented the baby moving into this position, going to have to go out in the wind and gales now! Plenty of moving though, must keep moving!

dc2 was exactly the same my midwife described it as transverse oblique He was late to engage but moved down fine He was back to back and I had a long labour 34hrs from waters going, 7hrs active labour but did it all on gas & air.
Trust in yourself and your baby

On the other side of that I'd also readyhe bit of info you have on a CS just in case. I had one as emcs as ds was stuck. I was totally unprepared for it by antenatal classes and I'd always skipped those bits in the book!
It left me feeling pretty messed up emotionally and took me a whileto get over that. BUT I wouldn't dream of having dc2 naturally now. A planned CS (in case of breech baby) will be much calmer and as long a you are prepared for longer recovery and knowing that your body is not defective in some way (one of my many irrational angst ridden thoughts afterwards) it isnt so bad. My theory now is that some of us just aren't meant to birth naturally and without modern median it would be a struggle for us or our babies to survive.

Relax- baby will probably move but if not at least you can be prepared! :)
