Sorry if this has been done before but Im continuously hearing that 3rd labours are the hardest and/or most unpredictable.

I'd really appreciate if you could tell me about your experience (and be brutal, even if it is awful, I'd rather be prepared)

Thanks all Smile

Yes, all 3 of mine were at least 2 weeks early!

DD1 was early. Textbook labour (slightly long but normally long considering it was the 1st)
DD2 was on her due date.
DS (3rd labour) was 6 days late (despite 5 sweeps Shock). He was mahooooosive so labour was very painful (sorry). Fairly quick though and contractions went from zero to every 3 mins within half an hour, and dilated to 6cm within an hour. Would still do it again though.

Good luck!! :)

Much faster than the other two.... which wasn't really appreciated as we live 30 mins from my mother and an hour from the hospital and it was an icey morning so my mother took almost 2.5 hours to get here and then we still had to get to the hospital!

It was the only one of my three labours that started all at once... the other two i was twinging on and off for hours and wasn't even sure if i was going into labour... ds2 was a hollywood labour, started with a huge fuck off contraction and kept going.

I barely had a pushing stage, my waters went in transition (another first, the other two i needed ARMs to get things moving) and a few contractions later he flew out. Very quick and intense and the little sod was a shocked as i was and aspirated on some blood so landed himself in SCBU for the week Hmm

Ooh are you sure?!

Was a perfectly lovely quick labour, no pain relief, oh and no midwives, no hospital and dp delivered her Grin

Woke up at 1.20am to go for a wee realised I was having BH (at 8 days over, really?!! DUH) They didn't go but weren't strong or regular.

Until 3.30am, I'd already rang in once but she said have a bath, I got in bath, made dp ring straight back to say I needed someone there for my HB NOW!

They said they would page on call MW and send her over.

I couldn't move from bath, on all fours then realised baby was not waiting, told dp to call ambulance, he did and her head popped out still in membranes, was funny looking down to see a little space lady looking back Grin

Dp broke membranes and dd came straight out at 4.22am. All 9lb 4 of her!

There you go, you're feeling much better now aren't you Wink
