Very posterior cervix

Has anybody been told they have a 'very' posterior cervix, and what happened during childbirth?

Am 40+10, had an unsuccessul sweep as the mw could't reach inside the cervix, but said that it was soft/stretchy (can't remember) and open to allow a finger, she just couldn't reach. I know I shouldn't be terrified of being induced as it can work for some people, just wonder how much more difficult is it to give birth normally if you have a posterior cervix.

I have. Had EMCS as cervix would not dilate for love nor money PLUS big baby (10lb) so no idea if it contributed.

I have a very posterior cervix. Don't panic I managed to giv birth to my first two vaginally (although induced secobd time). Third baby was by emcs, but nothing to o with cervix, more his position and not hitting the cervix.

It will move forward as you progress through labour and an experienced mw should b able to 'walk' your cervix forward hen doing a sweep

I was told I had this too and baby ended up breeched which was Why cervix wasn't moving forward.

I had this with my 6 month old, induced at 42 weeks. It took 3 attempts at the pessary over 36 hours to enable them to break my waters (I was in hospital during this for monitoring and no pain, just some twinges). Synto drip after waters breaking and cervix was still 'up in the Gods' as midwife kindly put it, realised at this stage DS was back to back which disheartened me at the time but two hours later delivered normally!

Good luck Smile

Thank you all for replying. Am so exhausted of waiting, have been in 'pre-labour' for almost two weeks, things just don't carry on!

I will keep your experiences in mind, thank you so much.
