Best changing bags

Does anybody know of a good changing bag?

I ordered one from Verbaudet and these muppets cancelled all orders. We ordered again and they have a silly online system...so I gave up.

I have seen many on Amazon and online in general but I wanted to find out from your experience.

I got the free Boots changing bag and when I put the baby stuff to take to the hospital when I go into labour, i realised that almost nothing fits in that bag.

So any ideas? My pushcair didn't come with one, that is another reason.

Thanks!

Hello, this thread is a little old and the links are out of date. Take a look at this handy page for a round-up of the best changing bags.

The free Boots bag was plenty big enough to get everything I needed for DD in Confused The amount of stuff you need to take to the hospital is far more than you'd need to take out day-to-day though.

I only got a bigger bag (Radley oilskin) when I started CMing as I couldn't get enough stuff for two babies and a first aid kit in there.

Interesting thread this. I was just going to use a rucksack and get a nice changing mat etc but recently my lovely friend said she wanted to co-ordinate with my other girl friends and buy me a nice one as its the one things she said she regretted not having. Its a lovely thought and I certainly dont want to look a gift horse in the mouth! But then I started looking at the price of them and really its like with everything Maternity related the price seems to hike up just because its for mums and I resent that.

I looked at those Skip Hop ones on amazon but they get mixed reviews especially if you need lots of room (i intend to use real nappies so have to factor in carrying dirty ones around too.) I think I will ask her to use her experience find me a nice roomy bag and a complementing changing mat.

I'm not sure if mine was overpriced because it's a change bag or not, the leather is lovely and I have a smaller non baby bag that was a similar price, a few years in and it still looks as good as new even with lots of use. I treated myself to a leather baby change bag because I always used to carry my stuff in the changing bag, then I felt lost not carrying a handbag.

The one I have looks like a nice handbag on its own anyway, when I go out on my own it's easier to take the baby stuff out and leave my stuff in and it doesn't look odd when it's almost empty. Even past the baby stage you need somewhere wipe-able to stash any half eaten sweets/apple cores/banana skins/snotty tissues etc?nice.

Ladies, Thanks a lot for your suggestions!!

I went to the shops today and I bought a very nice and big light brown leather bag from Warehouse for £40 - neither cheap, nor expensive!

It is really nice and I like it!!

Thanks!
