Okay I'm due on Thursday..and this morning I woke up at 4.30 with the most horrid lower tummy pain..which was period like and lasted about 30 odd sec and then stopped. It was sore as it woke me up, but nothing to bad. So I went back to sleep..

Then at 7.18 I woke up screaming in pain Shock..it was like nothing I've even felt before, right across my whole lower body and I felt very sick. It was really quite heinous pain really deep. The main pain pasted after about 30 / 40 secs however my back still ached for a good 2 mins afterwards. And then relief, thank god as it was extremely unpleasant!

I'm feeling fine..and had nothing since! Confused

Now I'm sure I might be grabbing at straws, but is this things getting started, what the heck is happening!

Any advice would be great, haven't been feeling myself for a few days, but hey I'm nearly 40 weeks who does at this stage..Grin

My DD was nearly born on my birthday and DS shares MIL's birthday, it is a special thing to share

Sounds like things are slowly on their way for you though, I'll keep popping in and see how you're getting on

Nothing happening and DH doesn't think I had contractions at all. Very helpful comment..Angry

Trying to keep active, would be great if baby didn't keep me waiting too much long. Annoying as bump isn't due for 3 days but something clearly started and i'd now wish it would just finish..

Have you had sex yet? (Don't answer that - just accept the nagging Grin) You really need to, you know Grin

Excellent. I'll wait on the birth announcement then.......

Sheilathegreat · 23/02/2011 20:38

It could have been wind.

I had the worst pains of my life during my first pregnancy due to trapped wind. It was far far worse than contractions- sharper and much more aggressive.

For me these pains occurred in early pregnancy so I might be talking rubbish but they way you described it did make me wonder.

Anyway good luck with it all Smile .

Any news? Smile

Hello..yes we have news, not the baby kind the news all the same! So now 40+1

Well DH and I spent a stunning 4 hours in Kingston Hospital this morning...I had to have my BP check. All fine. However my pee needs to be sent off for test, this is nothing new for me, but still I was told I needed to see a doctor. Hence the long wait. I'm embarrassed to say I made a bit of a fuss about the total lack of information I've been given..MW was surprised that no one has spoken to me about my birth options esp since I had an appointment on Tuesday.

WHOOHOOOO I'm am engaged..and I've had a sweep too, currently about 1-2 cm, so a bit to go yet and clearly it's been happening very slowly..The doctor was like 'I can feel your baby's head, oh and there's a hand' Odd to think that someone has already touched our baby! But holy cow the sweep was fucking painful. Real grit you teeth, eyes watering. I'm a chicken and will be asking for every drug going once things get cracking. So delighted that maybe just maybe over the weekend or next week, we might have a wee baby.

Doctor was lovely and very smiley, I think it help that she was pregnant too, so felt sorry
for me given all the drama over the last week.

Thank you for all your good wishes...will keep you posted. Smile

Oooh yes please do Smile
If its any consolation, the first sweep I had was the most painful thing in the whole process, believe it or not. And the blood....!
Was a great opportunity to practise my breathing though! Had two more sweeps that were nowhere near as bad. Didn't get me a baby though..

So guess who fell down the stairs this afternoon whist DH was out....!!!

I slipped on the carpet..whizz..bump bump bump crash at the bottom on my bottom and back. Oh and along with a huge gush of water...shock blush I screamed all the way down

(NB: The handrail is there for a reason, however it helps if you hold onto it)blush

My phone landed within close reach, I tried calling next door as they have a key, but no answer. By this point I was getting quite freaked out and I knew I was going into shock, and was worried that my waters had broken. Front door locked and I can't move as I was too frighted, so I tried called DH even through he was out. I just screaming 'I've fallen down the stairs', thank fuck he was only mins away and come flying in through the door. By this stage I'd gone into full shock, but lucky his army training kicked in and I was given a 'firm' set of questions..followed by the stop, breath, I need you to calm down chat.

Anyway I'm totally fine, been checked out. Baby's is okay but I've given myself a bit of a fight. Also hit my coxits bloody hard, so that's a bit sore. Waters haven't broken, the gush of water was blush wee!

However on a plus side...ambulance's arrive in 4 mins, DH is jealous as he's never been driven at high speed to hospital in an ambulance (he followed in the car) and I'm now quite happy for anyone to look at my fanny...oh and I've lost my plug fully this time! Doctor said I'm 3cm gone..it's going very slowly here!

Gordon Bennett what a day....! I do hope the only other drama anyone else has had today involves a baby arriving..smile

Sounds like you'll be meeting your LO soon though!
