That's bollocks isn't it? Any midwives be able to explain if it is true?

There's that poor midwife from The Albany Practice who King's are trying to get struck off. King's shut The Albany Practice down, probably because it cost too much. Lots of the midwives complained and led protests about it. One of the leaders of the protests is now on supervised practice. She was sticking up for the women in her area. Its terrible.

Viva good point about the bullying - that's why I'm NOT a MW. Was all set to convert, but a friend of mine was just about to finish hers and I knew I wasn't able for a culture where senior MWs make racist comments unchallenged by even BME colleagues, students who object to ARM on the basis of "I want her to hurry up" fail their placement, all that jazz :(

They have done a lot to sort this out in my area in the last few years, I'm not sure that it's a great problem where I delivered (friend's DW works there but was unfortunately on nights the day we were there!) but the understaffing does contribute to burnout, I know.

I wasn't given g&a til I was 8cm dilated despite repeatedly screaming asking for it. Mw's were nice enough, but far too busy, there was nobody available to help me. I got my birth notes - there are notes in there sayomg 'no mw's available to go to bobby' etc.
