End of week 38 / Beginning of 39th What can I do?

I have done cooking, washing the baby's clothes, finished work, watched lots of films and read many books...

What else can I do? I'm buying things on Amazon just for the sake of it... I'm trying to chill out and do nothing but I just can't stop thinking about I can do...

I don't want to do cleaning yet. Despite the house is tidy, I will do a proper cleaning before the baby arrives to keep active..but at the moment, I feel like doing nothing and eat..But I already feel like a whale and I feel a bit bored to be honest...

Any suggestions?
It's raining outside!

Swimming? Treat yourself to a pedicure or a massage? Bake some brownies?

Definitely go and get a pregnancy massage I wish I had done that!

Hi Paula I am in the same boat as you, in my 39th week now and starting to go a bit stir crazy.. I make sure I 'achieve' something each day - e.g. washed babies clothes, mopped floor, booked car in for service, been to the bank etc. I have also been spending money online which means I will be skint before pay day!

I wish I could knit or something.. I've been addicted to MN and today I managed to finally write my birth plan which was my 'achievement' for the day!

A friend suggested going through all old photos and scanning them in for facebook which I have done - it's caused many a giggle with my old school friends so I'd recommend doing this if you have the means. Smile

Relax. Labour is knackering and having a newborn is more knackering.

Sleep! I am 38+2 and know how you feel, I do only have a few hours free each day before ds comes home from school but find a good 2 hour nap mid morning kills time nicely and gets you all nicely rested.

I´ve had a few lymphatic drainage massages and they are LOVELY.

Long walks with ipod in?

Uff. I don´t know. Time is dragging for sure.

Sleep for sure. And have lots of lovely baths in peace. Pedicure. Eat cake. I swam quite a lot late on cos I loved feeling weightless for once.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I cooked a lot today to put in the freezer and it felt good.

I played with my cats as they will be replaced in a few days :o and I watched another film called Hope Floats, which was nice and made me cry...
But then when the afternoon is about to finish, I get a call from a client, who I need to help and the client is Chanel 4...and they don't wait...so I had to get to work so well..at least I did something until DH called to be given a lift from the station as it was raining.

I have a voucher that my mother in law gave me for Christmas - it is a facial aromatic treatment so I might do that this weekend or next week.

Thanks to all and the ones that are in my same situation...good luck!
Let's don't think about the actual birth - at least it's my first and I'm freaking out!

good luck to you too! only thing i would say about the facial is ask if you will have to lie down - i only mention this because i have a voucher too and they said i would need to be lying down which at this stage we´re at can be so uncomfy it would kind of undo any of the relaxation benefits of the facial!

the massage on the other hand is legs only so you can be sitting up as much as is comfortable. just a thought.

re. birth, don´t freak out, be excited, whatever happens you get to meet your baby!
