Dont think I should watch OBEM anymore!

I watched in horror , this weeks OBEM.
Im 34 weeks with my 3rd child, Im booked in for a induction at 37 weeks (medical reasons) , and Im more terrified than I was even with my first , all because of what Ive seen on OBEM!!!!

I do believe that first time mums handle it better because they dont know what to expect and so I felt truly sorry for Sara, as she knew what she was in for , and Im feeling the same way and worried that they will be like oh come on you been here before , or get a grip!!!!

So far Ive had excellent care as Im under consultant lead care and cant fault them, and my other two births have been very successful I still cant help but worry , that I will be treated the same as poor Sara!!

This weeks was the worst wasn't it. They were so mean to that Mum on her 3rd and then the forceps - aarrgghhhh.

My mother always said that the midwives were great on her 1st, ok on her 2nd and then just 'get a grip' on her 3rd. There have been some lovely 2nd, 3r, 4th births though.

I do think Sara could have been more vocal about the epi though - on your 3rd they should listen to what you are telling them!

Julia's baby really looked bashed up after those forceps , all around his eye was cut.

I do agree that Sara could of been more vocal and was pretty out of it with the pethidine!

One half of my thinks with my medical history they wont leave me just to get on with it, but the other half thinks (the not so rational pregnant hormonal half)thinks OMG if that happens to me I know I wont cope and will end up screaming the place down , begging them to give me a c-section!!!

dont beg wait til the contraction stops and then inform them of your decision and that you are serious with your request...

i bluddy hate the way labour is assumed to be natural and something to just get on with, its scary and emotionally lonely and just because savings need to be made on the nhs does not give people the right to allow you to feel scared or a nuisance!!

my mw was like that with my first and i sat up between contractons asked what my drug options were and then asked them to crack on with them as i could NOT handle things after 10 hours...

get your partner on side as well with a code word so they can tell them you are not just a hysterical woman but you need someone to take your pain seriously...

haha, i am going in armed this time!!

am just watching it now. Why are they being so mean to that sara woman and not letting her have the pain relief she has expressed a clear desire for? And why is her bed next to the wall? makes life awkward for everyone.
