Home birth and high BP

Hello everyone! :)

My blood pressure has gone 'high' at 150/90 and I have been put on BP tablets which seems to have reduced it to 140/80. I feel fine in myself (urine, blood fine etc) and baby is fine too.

I really want a home birth, however, and of course I am being advised not to go down that route.

Just wondering if anyone else out there had similar experience and what they decided to do.

I am 36+1 by the way.

The clinical guidelines about when to medicate with HBP in pregnancy can be found on the NICE website.

Yes I have a BP machine at home and take it daily after a rest/nap, then show the consultant/midwife each time. They tend to go by my readings more now, although my white coat syndrome has lessoned a bit now. 3rd pregnancy and LOTS of hospital appointments later!

According to the NICE guidelines medication is only indicated when BP is 150/100 - 159/109 and if it gets above this then hospitalisation is recommended but not bed rest.
Really interesting to read actually - thank you whoever mentioned it!
