Feels Like My Baby's Gonna Fall Out!

I'm due to give birth in 4 weeks (Feb 19th) - This is my second baby and this is nothing like my first experience.

Yea, I get the whole 'every pregnancy is different' blah blahh but this constant pain in my pants in something else!

With 4 weeks to go - I'm sure its still very early to be practically bed ridden!
I feel so useless to my 6 year old daughter - she walks faster then me! When I walk her to school I have to ask her to wait for me!
And by the time I make it back home I'm in tears from the pain.

Every move I make - hurts! I'm in pain when I'm standing - and even when sitting/lying.
At night when I toss and turn trying to find that comfortable position to sleep in I feel more pain - its constant and I'm miserable!

Anyone else out there feeling/felt this constant pressure weeks before their due date?

My asked my consultant - he wasn't much help ..

HELP !!!!

Speak to your Midwife or consultant again. Could it be SPD?

I'm finding it a bit of a nightmare to sleep and doing the waddle too (currnetly 39wks) but if it's that painful - you need to get it checked out

if it is SPD - although there's not much to be done, they can recommend positions for sleeping..

Have you tried lying on a folded up duvet? Or with pillow between legs?

Sorry it's crappy for you Sad

Not personally, but I know a couple of people who were struggling just like you describe for a couple of months before due date, one so much she actually demanded to be induced.

I've got SPD, and although I don't have this kind of pain (yet??), the physio told me that doing 3 sets of pelivc floor muscle exercises each day is vital if I want to avoid what she called 'dragging pain'.

Each set consists of holding the pelvic floor muscles in 10 times for 5 to 10 seconds each time. She said doing quick clenches and releases, maybe 50 to 100, are beneficial too.

Sounds like the baby is engaged in your pelvis. Mine is well in and I get the same kind of pain. Its awful! You just feel like if you take one more step, the baby will fall right out. Mine also seems to be breakdancing in there which is most uncomfortable Shock I wouldn't worry but check with your mw to get some reassurance x

Ifelt the same with baby no4,felt like i would open my legs and he would fall out, also thought he would be prem,as the heavy low feeling, was bad,but not he was 10 days overdue, and high up in my pelvis,so dont know what was going on.good luck.

waddlewaddle Sorry to hear about that. Second baby too and I had that sensation last couple of weeks or so around 36-38 weeks, making me think baby must be fully engaged (wishful thinking!) and therefore labour imminent. I couldn't walk or stand properly and was in agony. DH for once was helping me out as I was screaming in pain at times. But that sensation and pain has since disappeared. Very odd. Hopefully yours is better now too. My midwife appointment is this week so never got a chance to check and see what was actually going on.

clairemgill, lol at breakdancing!
