Anyone know how likely induction is to succeed at 40 weeks?

Was induced at 42 weeks with DD, was successful and fine, had her naturally with just G&A. This time round the baby is getting v v big, possible late diagnosed GD and they're talking about inducing me on my due date. Anyone know my chances of all going as well as last time? Really don't want a CS.

All depends on how 'ready' your body is for it really.

as far as i know induction for second and subsequent dc usually "easier" though as far as whether it will succeed, once they get you started you're going to end up with a baby one way or the other!

maybe trying to non-medical tactics would help put you in a state of readiness.

Was induced with DD at 34+4, she was born at 34+5, indution due to pre-eclampsia, normal delivery.

Was induced with DS1 at 39+4, he was born at dead on 40 weeks. Induction took so long because of his position, but was still a NVD.

Was induced at 40+2 with DS2, ended up with ventouse, mostly because he had a very large head.

Am currently 40+5, and waiting for an induction date.
