Bowel Movements - tmi!

Ok - far too much information here but....

Before a bowel movement I can feel the lumps bulging inside low down in the vagina. I know everything still needs to tighten up but does this mean a definite prolapse. It goes away straight after I have gone to the loo.

Sorry - did warn you Blush.

Oh, was so embarrassed when I wrote that - forgot to ask if anyone else has had the same (slowly hides under the table) Blush

Not sure? Is the sensation just in your vagina? For me it felt like my whole bottom was 'falling out'. I was terrified it was a prolapse as it lasted quite a few weeks post birth but has thankfully tightened up now. Not sure how long ago you gave birth, but hopefully it will resolve itself. I still have issues with bottom Blush. Really hope you feel better soon, it is horrid I know.

Yes, only got the problem at the front. It feels like I have a tampon inside and bulges in (sorry tmi). It then goes after I go to the loo. Am I the only one with this problem - not looking good Sad

I have a mild rectocele (prolapse of the back wall of the vagina) according to my gynecologist and have this exact feeling. My women's health physio says that the muscle there is damaged - not sure if it will fix itself or not. My gynecologist says she wouldn't do anything about it for at least a year as it needs time to recover. My physio says that I wouldn't have surgery anyway as I don't have problems functioning (i.e. I am fully continent). I think it may be making me suseptible to fissures. I am 4 months post birth. I am hoping it will sort itself out as it just feels weird.

Thank you changeroo - really appreciate you commenting on somewhat a sensitive issue. It sounds just like I have the same problem as you so your feedback is invaluable. And also very reassuring. Will keep up the old pelvic floors and give it a bit of time. Thank you!

This is my first post but I felt I had to reply. I have exactly the same problem for and a half months after giving birth. I plucked up the courage to see the doctor about and she said that I need to do more pelvic floor exercises, at least 12 times a day, and that if it hadn't improved in 6 months I should go back to see her.

I'm really rubbish at remembering my exercises so I'm considering getting some sort of device to help. Anyone ever used one and are they any good?

Sounds like varicose veins in vulva, they have got a proper name. Vile, but don't worry about the lumpy bumpy bits, they do go away after the pregnancy.

Oh the joys of being a woman!
