Hi,

I am wondering whether Kingston offer a mobile epidural?

Also, any general advice from anyone who's had one. Were you still able to push adequately? Did you find that you were still in a lot of pain? Would you opt for one again?

Ta!

I've had an epidural and didnt feel a thing, pushing was a bit of an issue tho and suction had to be used. I wouldnt hesitate to have again.
Dunno bout mobile, wasnt an option at mine.

Just back from supporting a lady who had a mobile epidural (she wasn't planning it in advance but baby was in a bad position and after 3 days of labour which she coped with beautifully at home she needed a rest!).

She slept for an hour and then we got her up and moving. She could walk, sway, rock her hips, bounce on the birth ball and push in an all fours position.

If you want to be mobile do ask for a wireless monitor which will give you more freedom.

She did feel light sensations every now and then and asked for a top up each time they became stronger.

It's great to try and manage for as long as you can without one as you might surprise yourself and not need one and also you can avoid too many top ups which reduces your chance of not feeling able push.

Hi squiggleywiggler

Thanks for your message. Is a wireless monitor something the nhs would be able to offer? Was your lady private?

Thanks!
