hi please advise i have posted before but need reassurance again.
i bled for 5 weeks after giving birth, then at 6 weeks for 4 days, 9 weeks for a day , 11 weekd for a day and now again at 12 weeks. the bleeding after the lochia hasnt been much pinky with some red in it. last two times i have felt pmt ish too.
is this just my body getting back to normal?
doctor is aware and been doing swabs as i had bacterial vaginosis and still carry group b strep.
feel fine in myself though.

Just thought I would let you know. Was admitted to hospital for a scan and prepped for theatre just in case!! Scan came back clear and told "it's probably just your period dear", protested that this was unlikely and given a course of antibiotics, just in case.

Anyway fed up as bleeding still continuing (with clots and small bits of tissue, sorry of TMI). Decided to go and have acupuncture treatment, given treatment on a point called Spleen 1 on the big toe and within an hour the bleeding had stopped, in fact no bleeding for the past week! Might be worth a try if there is nothing on the scan, I was amazed how well it worked and felt that I had nothing to lose anyway.

wow greenbeanie thats amazing!!

(by the way i was mummyofmax but have changed my name as i am now not just max's mummy!)

I too had a scan which showed nothing, but again this morning I have woken up to a bleed. just pinky at the mo but seems to be happening every two weeks now so wondering if I am having fortnightly periods??

Lucceloo and Serendipity, my heart goes out to you. You guys have way more bleeding than me and I feel I shouldnt complain. It sounds like you are having all the right tests tho and although its frustrating that they say its just a period it is good that nothing is showing up.
having said that, i have had clear swabs now, smear and full blod count is fine and scan fine yet I am still really worried and upset about it.

Think there should be more follow up checks with baby docs after birth fro problems such as these.
xx

Hi ladies.

luceeloo - Thanks for the message. Did the coil & the pill completely stop your bleeding?

I am going to see my gp tomorrow & don't know what to ask for Confused . The consultant who i saw when i was admitted said to consider the coil or the pill. To be honest i'm not keen on the coil & don't really want to go on the pill either lol.... fussy cow i know.
Worried the pill may affect my fertility. I want to ttc again around september time but i have only 1 tube & one working ovary (on the removed tube side}.

Well i'm still on the norethisterone & i'm due to stop taking it i think in 8 days time. I stopped bleeding for 4 days Shock Smile BUT the bleeding came back yesterday Sad . Its bright red & i'd say a medium flow, certainly not spotting. I'm also getting a lot of pain in my ovaries but i'm not ovulating.

I don't understand why the norethisterone isn't working. Dreading stopping the tablets incase i have really heavy bleeding again.

Going to ask for a referal to the gyne outpatients but i don't think they'll do much other than to suggest the coil & the pill again.

I had the coil put in 20th august and started the pill (mercilon) a month later. It's normal for elongated bleeding after coil is fitted as it's a foreign object. But by early November bleeding stopped. 27th November I had a tiny bit of bleeding (literally a quarter of a extra light tampon) and nothing at all since. I'm seeing the gynae again in a few weeks where she will decide whether to keep on the pill or let the coil work alone x
