Just wondering, how long after you were 'fully engaged' did you pop?

I was just curious, is there any real link between being fully engaged and going into labour or is it just random? Is it different for second timers?

I'm a nervous fully engaged 36+4 second timer lol she's boucning on my cervix all day and I can feel it bowing outwards, it's making me nervous about leaving the house!

Fastasleep - With your 2nd the baby normally doesn't fully engage until you're in labour!!! Have you got yer bag packed?

well my experience was that dd2 was engaged for a month before I went into labour (she was a week late)

like walking with a metal grapefruit between your legs I esem to remember

I s'pose with a 2nd baby they sometimes don't stay engaged. They can pop in and oot easier. With your 1st the tend to be stuck like a cork in a bottle once they engage.

I was fully engaged two weeks before due date. The midwife said go home and put your bag beside the door you are going to go into labour any minute. One month later I was induced and can I just say it was an extrodinarly uncomfortable month

I was fully engaged with my first at 35 weeks. Had her at 38 weeks.

Ah... but this is Fastasleeps 2nd baby. Its much different with your 2nd.

FWIW my 2nd baby didn't engage at all until I was in fully established labour at 39wks.

whereas I had the reverse happen with my first - not engaged at all at my 39 week check, had DS 3 days later

DD was engaged from 36 weeks and was born at 37.4 weeks.

with Adam I was engaged for 5 weeks before he turned up. however being second who knows.

I never got fully engaged untill labour with all 3 of my children.

engaged between 34-36 weeks

born 41+4

41+4! Blimey that must have been umcomfy as hell!

waters broke at 3cm and he still wasnt engaged, i had a big contraction which made me vomit and this brought him down. this was at 7.30am and he was born at 12.44pm

Engaged at 34 weeks. Born at 41 + 3. Spent those weeks feeling like I was walking around with a coconut between my legs!

Engaged 34 weeks with 1st - popped 42.

Never engaged until in labour with 2nd - but thats pretty much the norm.

Was engeged at 36 weeks with DD I think.
Am now 35 weeks with No 2 and have been engaged for about a week - walk like a duck and will definately be giving birth to a bowling ball

I am 3/5 engaged with second baby and have been since 35.6. Am 37.4 now and def think i am fully engaged now as can hardly walk and have to sit with my legs open!! DD1 was engaged at 38 weeks i think but was born at 42 after i was induced. Hoping this one will be early as fed up now.

No link for me - was engaged at about 35 weeks each time, ds was born at 40+12, dd at 42 weeks.
