Anyone given birth at Ealing hospital in the last year?

I've been referred to Ealing hospital to have my second child. I had severe pre eclampsia with my first who was born at 34 weeks + 5 days so I was told I'd definitely get into to Queen Charlotte's again this time. I'm in two minds now as heard bad things about Ealing hospital in the past - though more favourable things in the last year. Today my husband and I dropped in unannounced to get a feel for the place and I was very pleasantly surprised when a lovely midwife dropped everything when I explained the situation and took us on a private tour of all the facilities ante natal, postnatal and c section rooms. She spent an hour with us and was so lovely, answering my umpteen questions happily. So I think I'll stick with going there, despite QCH being more famous for 'high risk' pregnancies but just wondered if anyone had recent experience of giving birth at Ealing.

I havent given birth there (yet) but am 24+4 with my first and it's the hospital I'm using as I live a 10-minute walk away and don't drive or have access to a car. I have underlying pelvis problems which make me higher risk but my GP said he was more than happy with my choice.

Like all hospitals it seems to have mixed reviews but I've heard some very positive experiences. One friend is due to have her third child there in January and had her previous two there. She had fairly straightforward deliveries with gas and air.

I also know another lady who had her third child there after a previous birth at Queen Charlotte's. She said the after care she received at Ealing was better.

Thankyou! It's a tricky decision - but Ealing would be easier if I end up spending a long time in hospital with blood pressure problems again. AS you say you can hear good and bad things about everywhere.

I would highly recommend West Middlesex hospital if you have access to a car in the future (or taxi). Was excellent and their A and E dept is far better than Ealings (had a bad experience in Ealing).
