Pelvic floor exercisers for postnatal?

Hi,
Has anyone used one of these:
www.kegel8.co.uk/kegel8-tightandtone.html or anything similar? Pelvic floor utterly shot to bits. Have seen the physio for a pelvic floor check (confirmed I don't have a prolapse) and I'm trying to do the pelvic floor exercises several times a day, but TBH things are so knackered down there that I can't feel anything. Feels like the connection between my brain and my pelvic floor is broken - am sending the messages to squeeze and tighten but my pelvic floor isn't listening! I used to do loads of pilates before baby, so I know what I'm supposed to be doing. It's just not happening. Am seeing the physio again this week and will ask her what she thinks, but wanted to get advice from people here who may actually have used them.
Thanks! XX

I must admit that I felt like you after the birth of my second child. Prior to my pregnancy and throughout it I continued to exercise had a very easy and quick birth. After though I felt like I needed the loo all the time and couldn't feel anything when trying to do my pevic floor exercises that I was constantly being told to do. I went to the doctor to check that I hadn't had a prolapse, which I hadn't. Anyway after waiting until about 7 weeks I started to use an exerciser smilar to the one you have listed, mine was actually this one www.tenscare.co.uk/index.php?action=products&product=81 Well, I'm now a year on and my pelvic floor is great now so I would highly recommend it :)

Thanks! Your one is cheaper than the one I found Grin. TMI question - how big was the probe? I've had some tearing, and although I am healed up I am pretty nervous about anything going up there Blush. Glad to hear that you are OK now Smile.

Hi there
I've just measured it and it is 6 1/2 cm. It is pretty scary at first, but it really doesn't hurt Wink

With all the post baby weight after DS (who is ahem 15 months old now) I think I would break something or someone if I tried that sort of acrobatic jumping, no matter how tight my pelvic floor.

I am a teeeeny bit nervous about putting electricity in such a sensitive place but the probe doesnt look too terrifying really. And I keep forgetting to do my pelvic floor exercises so the prospect of reading a book whilst something does them for me is eminently appealing!
