Maternity/post-birth pads/towels?

I remember using the hideously long and thick 'new mother' sanitary towels after I had DS. They were quite uncomfortable :(, not to mention leaky (sorry for TMI).

I would prefer something eco-friendly (less chemicals, don't want extra irritants down there), but something a bit more comfy than the 'new mother' ones.

Are there better options out there? Can you recommend any?

not really, but I remember looking at the post natal ones and thinking oh surely I won't need anything that huge and buying normal maxi size sanitary towels which were of course woefully inadequate so be wary of straying too far from the ones designed for the job!

I used Boots mega-thick maternity towels for the first 10 days or so...they were comfy and absorbent but did leak a bit - but I think that's because there's just so much blood. Much comfier than normal sanitary towels.

Not as good as the NHS ones in the hospital though - wish I'd known who supplies those!!

I used Tesco maternity towels, found them good. Midwife gave me a good tip, stick one on top of the other for the first week or so.
