Skin reacting to pads, any suggestions?

I am allergic to plasters etc. In hospital post c-section I reacted to either the sheets ( plastic underneath) or the inco sheets they used for first couple of days. I now have sore patches on my legs when the sanitary towels touch/ rub.

I'm likely to bleed for a bit longer yet so does anyone know of any alternatives?

I cant think of any pads that might help, but depending on your needs could u perhaps cover the pad? maybe cut up an old bath towel and place it over the pad and throw away after etc.

Order some cloth pads online, or if you sew you could make your own... ?

I react to lots of sanitary pads, but am fine with natracare ones. Problem is they are a bit difficult to get hold of. I think waitrose sell them, but otherwise you'll have to try health food shops or the internet. Bit pricey but a price iam happy to pay to stop sore bits!

Also though I second the idea of cloth pads if you can handle washing them.

Natracare are these ones here. So you could do an online shop as well.

Thanks, bleeding not massively heavy now so might manage cloth ones.

Skin all scaly & red & itchy. Awful in middle of the night!

I would get some muslin and cover the towels... I realise this may be uncomfortable, but lets face it, having a mattress betwix your legs isn't the most pleasurable of experiences.

:)
