Hi,

I am playing the inevitable waiting game and labour-symptom-spotting and wondered if anyone would like to hold my hand and advise??!! Now 40+2, seceond baby but first was induced and so I don't have a clue what the onset of natural labour feels like.

Since this morning, I have been getting irregular period-like cramps, really low down in my pelvis. They don't last long, maybe 15-20 seconds, and aren't regular as such. Sometimes 5 minutes apart, sometimes up to 15 minutes will elapse between them. Hope this isn't too much information but I have also kept needing to empty my bowels and wee.... tiny amounts but the urge is there. No bloody show or anything.

I am thinking this is pre-labour and could go on for days??

I would usually be content to just wait to see what transpires but...if something is happening I need to alert my parents to come down as they live 3 hours away; get my husband home from work as he is one hour away and ;call the hospital as I am GBS positive and therefore need to go in earlier than would otherwise be the case.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I feel like a right prat given this is my second baby!

Based on my experience I'd go now if you need those ABs 4 hours before birth. Ring them though, see what they say.

If it makes you want to stop walking and talking then it's significant (my best effort at English understatement), I would definitely put all plans into action!j

(ooh, I love a Good Labour thread :) ).

2 1/2 hours since her last post so I suspect she is at the hospital. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Yes, hubby made it with a couple of hours to spare thank goodness. Now home, the usual sleeplessness fest and feeding issues, but he is gorgeous if I do say so myself Smile and things will hopefully settle down soon.
