39+5 - has anyone had a Bishop's Score test?

Hello,

I'm really worried about being induced and want to go into labour naturally. I've got a midwife appointment this afternoon and have been told that I will be offered a sweep, which I won't have as I'm not 40 weeks yet and I don't want to start induction-type activities this early.

Has anyone had a Bishop's Score test done? I wonder if it put my mind at rest that I am likely to go into labour myself and refuse intervention for at least another week. Unless, of course, it's really low, but then I could try acupuncture and more natural ways of bringing on labour.

In order to do a Bishops score you will still need an internal, here is a calutlator chart to work it out. I asked my mw all the infio I needed and worked it out myself. Our Midwives won't discuss indution until 40+& then only offer from 40+10. Sweeps are offered at term +2 and term +5. There is no reason for her to offer a sweep as you are not even due yet. You can refuse intervention until 40+14 or more ifyou have daily monitoring post 40+14.
