Am currently in one of the two pairs of mat trousers I have left. My stomach is still swollen ( 6 days so didn't expect otherwise) but according to MW more than usual and v bruised( dd3 wouldn't come out!)

I need something to get me through next couple of weeks , any suggestions? I was a 16 ish and am short! Not a lot of local shops & I can't go myself as I can't stand for long due to Anemia & spd.

It'll go down soon. At six days I was in nightie, pjs or trackies!
Maybe loose yoga type trousers, a dress, not sure where as you might have different tender bits to what I had.

Don't push yourself to be 'together' too fast!

I want to wear trousers!

I was still in normal trackies under the bump so they don't work at the moment.

I'm sore across my scar and up to my belly button is bruised & tender so maternity trousers work well just don't have enough to cope with baby sick!

think I am a day or 2 ahead of you and am living in Sainsbury's jersey type material joggers that are 2 sizes bigger than normal. the waist sits above my belly button and like you it's all still pretty sore on day 8.

Might try sending dh to asda then .

I lived in maternity over-the-bump leggings from asos, they were the only comfortable thing for the first couple of weeks, then maternity jeggings. Yesterday I wore normal jeans for the first time, dd is 7 weeks :)

fireblademum · 14/10/2010 21:38

maternity tracksuit bottoms were the best, however i found hubbys jim jams saved me from having to buy more maternity clothes, nice and loose

nymphadora · 15/10/2010 07:48

Found my mat jeans have their seam on my scar so only one pair of trousers. Dh similar size to me normally so his stuff no good!

I find normal leggings in a bigger size with thick waistbands help, Coupled with big baggy top.

RoobyMurray · 15/10/2010 07:58

I know you're not asking about underwear, but can I just recommend seamless knickers? You can get them in primark and tesco and probably other places too. They are very soft with no elastic at the top, so don't irritate your scar.

nymphadora · 15/10/2010 08:40

Knickers are the biggest ones I've ever seen! Bigger than dh boxers Blush they come past my belly button and over all the bruises, scars & injection sites, great & when I'm better they will be in the bin so fast!

I second big, high waisted leggings or yoga pants (M&S do high-waisted ones in black and grey that are pretty good) with a tunic or baggy top.

MumtoF · 15/10/2010 09:05

Think you'll be suprised at how quickly you feel back to normal. I remember being desperate to get back to trousers rathern than PJs/trackies but I think in a week or two you will probably be able to buy something nice in a bigger size than normal. Would definitely stick to lightweight stuff such as PJs around the house as scar needs to breath. Those M&S modal ones are nice and if you can get a dark colour will look like trousers.

ginger2000 · 15/10/2010 09:39

hi - i'm at 18 days post section and still in huge pants and leggings as i'm bruised and my scar is still sore. my jeans etc all sit n the scar so think i will be in leggings etc for a while yet!

was thinking i might buy some big wooly tights as its a bit cooler outside so i can wear a dress/skirt.

evening wear = pjs!

Celia76 · 15/10/2010 10:11

High waisted yoga type track suit bottoms. Not too baggy on your legs so you don't feel too frumpy, but forgiving around the waist! I'll be having my 3rd section in Feb amd I plan to buy a few new pairs!

nymphadora · 15/10/2010 15:26

Anyone point me in direction of some high waist yoga pants? Dd3 just threw up on my only trousers so I'm back in a dressing gown Blush

sweaty betty do lovely yoga trousers in gorgeous fabric!
I have bought 2 pairs ready for after my section ( got them in the summer sale!)

Hazeyjane · 15/10/2010 19:30

I am 3 months post section, and still can't bear anything on my scar.

I have a thing called a theraline caesarian belt, which has been fantastic for cushioning a very painful and bruised scar.

M+S do good cotton leggings (good to have breathable material around scar) in grey, black and brown for £8. I bought a aload online to wear with dresses and floppy tops.

I wear big pants (Primark ones are fab) under slouchy boyfriend jeans which don't sit to tightly on scar and ha (bought from e-bay - Next do a good petite range for the shorter of leg!) ve a high waistband.

GinAfford · 15/10/2010 19:46

It's all been said really...I hung out in trackie bottoms and leggings for a few months after my emcs. Knickers that tuck behing you ears are a must have! Congratulations btw.
