Is this it? Should I get DH home?

Hi all

39+3 with DC1 and been having BH's regularly over the last few days - however this morning they are accompanied by back pain and they seem stronger over the bump. DH is at work and I'm wondering if I should call and see if he can work from home this afternoon in case this is anything hotting up, as it will take him 1.5 hours to get home. What do you think? I don't want to start panicing everyone in case it all goes quiet again...

Also supposed to be meeting friends for coffee this afternoon but am thinking of cancelling as I don't really want to go far today...

Do you think I',m grasping at straws?

At least phone him and let him know, these things are best decided together.

Good plan muminbeds, will call now. Eek!

yeah call him and let him know it might be.
start timing the tightenings too!

WorrisomeHeart · 08/10/2010 10:55

have called, he's going to leave at lunchtime and work from home this afternoon. Am starting to feel nauseous too, although I guess that could be the excitement/nerves!! Will start timing and download contraction timer thingy!!

MumInBeds · 08/10/2010 10:57

. Are you breathing?

lolololol

WorrisomeHeart · 08/10/2010 16:52

starlight yep, still breathing Grin

BH's still at about 15 min intervals so nothing really hotting up - possibly a false alarm, possibly just a slow start. No show yet, don't really know what is going on. If only there was some form of signal like a red beacon flashing 'you are in labour'..

Lol starlight great suggestion!

Don't know if this is a symptom, but I've had a really hot neck for most of the day - any clues?

Starlight - really? Is that true?! I will need to get down to the bookshop pronto then.....

addie81 · 08/10/2010 19:14

worriesome if you beat me I will be SO jealous!!!! Now overdue and no sign of any progress. good luck!!!

wouldliketoknow · 08/10/2010 19:19

take care, sounds like it but mine started like that on a monday, and it was quite long, good luck!

WorrisomeHeart · 08/10/2010 19:50

addie I was wondering how you were getting on!! Any induction plans?

BHs have slowed - or rather bump and back just feels sore generally now rather than at intervals. Will go to bed in an hour or so and see if sleeping helps.

Thanks for all your wise words ladies!

I hope you've had a good night, WorrisomeHeart and addie and that today is the day for both of you.

WorrisomeHeart · 09/10/2010 13:50

Thanks muminbeds slept well and woke up with minimal BH's and no more back pain so I think the LO is just teasing us!! Feel a bit daft after such a flap yesterday but when it's your first you just don't know what to expect, do you?

addie hope you're having a more productive time of it!

It really is hard to know, especially as all that you are feeling actually is early labour, it just happens in fits and starts.
