Hi everyone, here's the situation .... I'm 33+4 .... (sorry its long)
I have a bicornuate uterus (partial) and so my baby hasn't moved up into the top 1/3 of my uterus at all due to there being no room. As far as I can tell she is lying transverse although her head may be down and her body transverse. Never had any movement in the top 1/3 of my uterus.
I also have just been diagnosed with a low lying placenta (which is quite common in uterine malformations like bicornuate) which is currently lying 2.7cm away from the OS. The sonographer said it should move up in time for my next scan (in 12 days) but my placenta is posterior and I have read that it is less likely to move.
I also have gestational diabetes and my baby is currently measuring 3 weeks ahead.
Due to all the above problems, I am really keen on a c-section, basically so there are no more problems (my mum had pre-eclampsia and eclampsia during labour resulting in a coma for 2/3 days, and my sister had GD and her first was around 10lbs, and she had to have emergency surgery after due to bleeding. We are similar in build).
However I have been told by other people that the consultant I am under is quite against c-sections. How do I go about asking for one and being quite firm about it? I have an appointment with her tomorrow and think she will probably say to wait for a decision (they were talking about inducing at 38 weeks due to the GD) until after the 35 week scan. If I am not happy with what she says, can I change consultant? I know there is another who is much more pro c-sections.
Thanks for listening and for any advice ....
