What happens to the fluid? Do they break your water first?

This is my 3rd child, and i feel totally clueless- and at 3am this question popped into my head. My last was an emcs, after 30 odd hours of labour, so my waters were broken. I had and have polyhydramnios, so know there will be a lot of fluid- so if you are having an elcs- what happens to it??

Am booked in for the 29th- though trying to get this brought forward a little as i am really suffering. So far, no joy.

Feel free to think i am nuts, i certainly do at the momentGrin

Once they make the incision they put a suction tube/tool/rod/thing straight there and suck it all out. No such thing as a stupid question in pregnancy in my view :-)

I guess that's what makes the washing machine noises that everybody goes on about!!!

Thank you!!! Don't know why this suddenly occurred to me!
Funny the things that start to bother near the end... I just couldn't figure out what they were going to do, and had visions of flooding the theatre!Grin
