Woke around 2.30-3am with a wet patch between my legs, at 8am a milky trickle down my leg and on off contractions all morning. Loose stools, nausea, etc.

I'm not sure if this is it. I just rang my doctor's office and they advised me to go in. But I don't want to do that too early.

I was classed as high risk because of previous ELCS but all fine now, baby engaged, head facing my back, still lots of movement.

WWYD?

It sounds as if you are in labour to me. I had loose stools and nausea when I went into labour with DS2 (ELC with DS1), together with contractions.

How far apart are your contractions?

porcamiseria · 08/09/2010 12:31

looks good, I would hang on at home for as long as you can. good luck!!!!

Might be worth going in just to get checked, you don't have to stay!

Haliborange · 08/09/2010 13:17

I'd hang on at home unless things really drag on. Actually, that's what I did with my VBAC and ended up going in about 20 hours after the first contraction at 10cm.

If the contractions get closer together/more regular during the day just go in when it starts to get serious. If they don't get more serious, go in because you don't want to be exhausting yourself and your uterus with a protracted labour, but otherwise distract yourself and relax at home. Obv also go in if you have pain between contractions or if you feel like you want to!

Good luck - how exciting!

I meant to add I'm in Dubai, UAE. As I suspect my waters went at night they will keep me in if I go into hospital now due to previous CS and associated risks.

Had sex last night which seemed to have started it all off. Gave Dh a BJ as I read prostaglandin in semen is best absorbed orally ... the lucky sod. Blush Sorry if TMI. Did nipple tweaking, not much else going on.

Have contractions on and off but not much to be felt and very irregularly.

Baby is moving a lot and feel fine, apart from a bit tired.

Would like to hang on at home but don't want to risk a chance of infection to the baby.

did you use a condom? if not that wet patch and milky trickles may not be your waters.....

pupuce · 08/09/2010 14:38

Hi!

So pleased to hear it's started.... if you don't have regular contractions I'd REALLY stay at home as hospital can't do much for you at this stage.... if only to show you the door to a theater!!!

Good luck!

As for infection... did you get Strep B tested If you were negative you are unlikely to risk infection... and if you are still worried just take your temp every 4 hours!

Just wait for contractions to establish regularly - it can take at least 24 hours for that to happen.... just go with the flow.... relax, sleep, drink champagne but BJ is NOT necessary ;-)

No we didn't use a condom libra, but it was definitely not any leftover stuff. It was trickly, white, odorless and watery. It felt like a gush, then another trickle a few hours later, each time after a few hefty wriggles by the baby.

I was tested negative for strep B and other things. Thanks pupuce, there will be no repeat for my DH tonight anyway Grin
