A show?

Am 41 weeks with my first. Today over the course of the day I have had a dark brown discharge enough to require me to use a towel, but not what I would describe as heavy.

I am thinking that this is the show? Does that sound right (sorry I sound like such a novice I know!!)?

Thanks!

It could be the start of something. What sort of consistency is it? Mine was streaked with red blood and like a clear mucous/jelly. There wasn't lots of it though.

At 41 weeks it's a good chance that something is happening - good luck Smile.

Thanks it's dark brown and is like a period really- not overly muccusy more like dark/old blood.

It could well be a show and it is a sign that things are changing but also that things could go on like this for another week. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Good luck Grin

Any progress nearly?

I had what you have described last Wednesday when I was 39 weeks (brown discharge, not mucusy, kind of like the end of a period, sorry for tmi!) and I wondered the same! It's my due date tomorrow though and nothing has happened yet... From reading online it sounded like this would be like a show so I was hoping baby might make an appearance by the weekend just gone but it hasn't happened.

If you are 41 weeks though I bet labour is just round the corner for you and you won't be waiting long. Good luck! Smile

I had the similar on sat/sun and nothing else yet. I'm 40+5 today and fed up. Hope yours comes to something soon.

41 weeks today and nothing. Had what I thought could be contractions earlier every 5 minutes for about 30 seconds, tightening this lasted for about 3 hours but has kind of tailed off now- not nearly painful enough to be contractions either... who knows!!! Still waiting!

It won't be long, I'm sure. It sounds like Braxton Hicks, which I had a lot and my MW tried to convinced me that it was helpful because it was getting everything warmed up and in position.

Keep us posted.

warm up labour is something that every pregnant mum should know about. I hope this link helps. It certainly will with me this time around. I wish I had known about it with my first. Grin

any news nearly?

I would be inclined to be irritating and say you will know a show when you see it. It looks like aspic (the jelly in a pork pie) and is unlikely to look like anything that has come out of your ladybits before!
