Bidets

I've just moved into a new house which has a bidet. I've never used one before and am rather embarrassed because I'm not sure how it's meant to be used Can anyone help.

Apologies if this is not the best thread to post on but I have recently had a baby and couldn't find a more appropriate one.

Oh I thought it was quite apt, as the only time I have ever used a bidet was in hospital!
Very good for sending a jet into tender and messy areas after childbirth LOL!

They are really meant as a replacement to bog roll though, aren't they?

don't you just hover over the water and wash

mum2c · 31/08/2005 09:47

Do you face the wall.

Oooh no. I could never use a bidet after an ex colleague arrived at work late and announced "Thank god for your bidet when you've got the period from hell". Too much information I think.

treat it like a toilet in terms of posture - squat over it though, no sitting when in position, squirt and wash...simple

Thanks, now I know.

They're also quite good for soaking your feet.

As far as I know you are meant to be looking towards the wall, but my more practical advice would be remove it and install a shower cubicle in its place
