If you had EMCS with first baby what happens next time?

Do you see consultant team for antenatal? I was a planned homebirth with DD so saw midwives only. Hope to have another baby and would prefer ELCS.

Also how do you get a "debrief" about your birth experience? I just want to know if they have any idea why DD wouldn't come out, if it's the shape of my pelvis I am DEFINITELY having ELCS if there's a next time!

you need to speak to the senior midwife at the hospital, they usually have someone on their team (or themselves) who will go through your last birth with you as part of their job.

I only saw a consultant at the end of my 2nd pregnancy because I was measuring large for dates. It seems to me that most people see consultants to discuss their options but at my hospital they have Vbac midwives for this.
I was alwaus given the option to try for a Vbac or have an ELCS.

I didn't get a debrief but then I know why my DD wouldn't come out!

I saw my consultant at my 12 week scan. She reviewed my notes and booked me in for elcs there and then.

I had an EMCS with dc1 and was under the consultants care for dc2. I was booked for a c-section at 40+6 but told my consultant I didn't want one. He said I didn't have to have one. I had dc2 and dc3 naturally.
