it's been nearly 6 weeks since i had my DD by emcs. I was doing really well with recovery and the other day did not feel sore at all. today i have woken up and my belly feels all bruised again and have been getting a sharp burning pain on my right hand side. I don't think that i have been over doing it as i have just started to lift my DS who is 22 months.

I also started driving yesterday as i have to pick up DS up from the childminders as it's too far to walk and my DH had to go back to work.

any advise as to why it's hurting again? I feel really disappointed as i have to get back to normal and all my friends work so can't rely on them to help me during the day.

Mine suddenly felt like that at 6 weeks then was right as rain again a few days later - I just put it down to being the end of the healing.

I did have the burning on one side a bit earlier on - my stitches hadn't totally dissolved on that side and would pull and burn. I got the m/w so snip the end off and it was fine.

Did you have dissolvable stitches?

it's quite reassuring to hear that. I'm hoping that's the case. My stitches are dissolvable but the pain is on the inside..so not sure how they would check.

Going to take it as easy as i can tomorrow and if still there on thursday will make an appt to see the doc.

I had this too - most of it was down to feeling better, then doing more than I should have because I felt the pain was better (and ending up in pain for several days later).

Remember that 6 weeks post c-section is not that long. You've had major surgery, and for all other abdominal surgeries, patients are told not to lift much more than a filled kettle for several weeks, nevermind caring for a new born 24/7.

Make sure you rest, and take painkillers if you aren't already.

Also, see your GP sooner if your tummy seems to get red or hot, or if the pain gets worse (it could be signs of an infection).

You guys are lucky, the bruising pain in my tummy lasted for nearly 4 months, it is major major surgery and I was advised not to stretch too far (internal adhesions?) and take it very easy.

There is a lot of internal bruising with a c section - please take teeny's advice and take it easy.
