Planner suggestions for ADHD? 10 yr old who struggles to organise himself

we strongly suspect our son has ADHD/autism - the typical inability to focus on tasks, distracted by other thoughts, hyperfixation on certain topics and thoughts etc. tho he’s not formally diagnosed. He is incredibly capable when he is able to focus or when his attention is captured by something. We’ve had great success helping him embed routines with print outs (ie to allow him to get ready for school on his own) but his teacher has raised issues with elements of his personal organisation (ie homework). He is starting secondary school in Sept and will need (and wants!) to be able to take ownership for this.

Im wondering about a wipe clean weekly planner for his room so he can see what he has when - but curious to know what others have had success with

Think of it like this: a wipe-clean weekly planner lets your child see their week at a glance homework, routines, and activities all in one place. Color-coding or stickers make it fun and motivating. Breaking tasks into small steps keeps it manageable. And reviewing it together at first helps them take ownership and stay consistent.

He will get a daily planner book from the school to help with keeping track of homework tasks. I'd focus on getting him to remember to use and check it daily. It will be better than a wall one as he will have it with him everywhere he goes.

He may not get a physical planner- our school has moved away from these to an online system (Teams) which the students are expected to check.
