Urgent child psychiatrist recommendations- DD9 extreme emetaphobia, panic burnout - poss ASD

We have just had our first CAMHS appointment for DD 9. She was in A&E for the second time this month on Saturday, as her fluid intake got so low she was too breathless to talk when she woke.

She has had extremely low food intake since start of January following an awful norovirus before Xmas.
DD felt funny in the tummy after eating and panicked; she has since had what she describes as panic attacks when trying to eat again.
Shes now more afraid of the panic than the sickness but it stems from extreme emetaphobia.

CAMHS told us we’ll hear back in 1-2 weeks re treatment. We tried some anti anxiety practices with an EMDR therapist online (who was great) but DD is almost too anxious to engage/put much into practice.
She is coping by sitting in bed watching tv all day until 10pm practically; when we try and remove this it’s extremely distressing.
Im so proud of her for going today.

She is only 9, at the start of submitting paperwork for ASD assessment. She’s diagnosed ADHD and was always v energetic and extrovert until this year (albeit with huge meltdowns and sensory issues.)

please if anyone can recommend a private psychiatrist in the meantime I’d be v grateful; I feel we may have to explore bringing her anxiety down with medication before she can engage. despite being so young :(
thanks so much

Hypnosis works brilliantly on phobias like this and a good hypnotist will cure her in one visit!

Thank you @PluckyChancer . The EMDR lady did hypno too and gave us an audio to listen too, but DD refuses.
It reminds her of her issues too much??
I know you’d think a child of this age should just do what they’re told. But she gets extremely dysregulated if we force something on her (eg a wash) and starts hitting her head repeatedly and throwing objects.

But you’re right I’ve maybe given up too quick and should try it again at better times when she’s more regulated. Poor thing she is otherwise such a sweetheart, just seems stuck in permanent acute fight or flight mode

Where do you live? We have an excellent Psychiatrist who my friend found. In similar circumstances to you. Autistic DD. Refusing to eat. Getting skinny. Due to fear of being sick after picking up a bug on holiday. So also added additional fears about holidays and travel.
anyway. She saw a doctor in sw london.

she phoned enough they managed to get an emergency appointment
very helpful treatment.

we then followed up and got an appointment with the same dr. Not urgent so waited 2 or 3 months. Both my kids see same psychiatrist. Either in person or now occasionally via zoom.

id highly recommend him.

Thanks so much @mummybearSW19 and sorry you’ve all gone through this.
I’m actually from SW London and have family there still, though we are up north (Manchester). But we could stay down there for a good psychiatrist or do remote.
If you could DM the name that would be amazing 🙏
I hope both your kids are doing well now and so glad she got good help.

We took our DD17 to a private clinic in Knightsbridge, which had 3 child and adolescent psychiatrists. She was seen within 2 wees and we were amazed by their support for our situation. ADHD, anxiety and weight loss.
