Has anyone got any information or experience of this type of therapy. I’ve done a bit of research but the results are conflicting, some saying it’s good and others saying it can cause more trauma if used incorrectly.

EFT is a bit like acupuncture. I'd imagine it will depend on DS personality, but it might help if they're up for it, otherwise you'll be better off with DBT-skills/EmReg.

What is it for? It's not going to cure his autism

We were told it involves tapping specific parts of the body. CBT hasn’t worked so we’re hoping this will be better.

Well obviously!! He suffers with anxiety and it’s starting to take over his life.

It wasn't obvious at all. You didn't actually say.

CBT only really works in the clinical trials. Not many people find it useful in real life. But it is cheap.

I'd give everything a try, but say clearly if he feels uncomfortable (beyond the way you're supposed to feel uncomfortable)

I'd focus on finding your son an adolescent neuroaffirming therapist that he likes and clicks with. The modality is way less important than the relationship and the therapist's understanding of neurodiversity.
