Hi all just wondering if anyone can help :)
I've been placed on the council's direct let list to leave my 2 bedroom flat for a 3 bedroom as my case was taken to panel and heard for my son needing his own room as he has suspected adhd and distriputs his sisters day to day life as he don't sleep causing myself and sister not to sleep.
All evidence provided was heard from daughters school, HV, GP, social worker ect & we were awarded a 3 bedroom need and placed on the direct let list.
Do anyone know the time scale minimum and maximum time to be offered the next property available ?
It had been narrowed down to a specific post code area but there are ALOT of empty council homes in this area.

Absolutely no one on here can tell you tbh as we don’t know what LA you’re under, what banding you’re in and we have no clue the of the average amount of people that bid each week. You can wait two months in Band A in some areas in the UK and 2 years in others.

Good luck and well done with winning the appeal, I hope you get a lovely place

I think it has gone past what banding ect as this direct list is sort of like an emergency list so I'm not sure how it works & the property's that come on the direct list are before the housing list x

Some councils publish lists that show how long people that have just moved into council houses were on the waiting list. Others have how many houses were advertised in the last year. They might give you an idea. But other than that, it’s as @ABunchOfBadBitches said.

Even if you are at the highest priority point it will depend if others are above you as completely homeless. It also depends on your full criteria and when somewhere becomes available (if empty I'm guessing they aren't habitable)

It could be months or it could be years. I have a friend who has 4 children in a 2 bed flat. 2 boys 2 girls. One room is only just big enough for a single bed. Not even room for bunk beds due to the shape as there isn't room to assemble them in there and too wide to fit through the door. They have to top and tail.

Her youngest (twins) are 6 now and still not even getting to top 20 in bidding.
