Hi. GP surgery has shared link with my daughter to right to choose for autism assessment. Had any one done this? If so do you have any advice you can share.
So many providers all over the country. None, seem to be in my area - Norfolk all seem to be up North in Yorkshire or down in Bristol or london.

I'm having the same problem. Can't find any in my area and I'm in South Yorkshire

We did through pscion with offices based in Canterbury or Basingstoke; we were expecting to need to travel to Canterbury which is 3 hours and I decided we’d just get a cheap hotel if needed as it was worth it compared to waiting 2 years with our NHS trust

I went on reviews and waiting time in the end; once the questionnaires were sent to us I made sure they were back almost immediately and got the first appointment within 6 months of the referral being made

The whole point is that you're willing to travel. We did a clinic 3 hours away, only had to attend once, stayed in a hotel the night before and got the diagnosis in 6 months as opposed to 3 years (the second assessment and review appointments were online).

How weird in London we are being told we can go to Norfolk with no waiting list !!!

I am currently looking into providers for an adhd assessment for my DC. It's hard to know which one to choose. I've contacted some and asked for wait times. It's hard to find them all, I wish there was just one long list to go through! Good luck.

We went with one that offered online assessments -clinical partners. Had fairly good experience. Referred in Feb for both asd and adhd, appointments in Aug and Sept. Diagnosis a few weeks later

Many of the right-to-choose providers do online assessments.

I've just got to the top of one waiting list for this. To be honest it's not great. I had a 90 minute phone call asking me how my child behaved a decade ago when they were 4/5 yrs old. I could hardly remember. A year of stress, work and menopause has blocked out a lot of stuff.
I'm waiting for the face to face appointment next.

DD had hers privately at Help4Psychology in Norwich and I know they were also doing adult NHS ones too so worth keeping an eye out. Otherwise travel and a night or two in a Premier Inn is still significantly cheaper than the £2.3k for private assessment. We only had to go to the clinic for the ADOS everything else was done remotely - our ED Psych was in the Shetlands

Hi this may help other users but Right to choose do have a website listing current providers of right to choose assessments however I'm finding information contradicting in my search for support for my son. Part say they are taking on referrals then further down is an update stating they are currently not due to high numbers of referrals.
