Does dd study too much?

A little bit worried about my dd mental health just gone into year 9 and since the second half of year 8 she has become a study freak. She openly admits that she actually enjoys studying and learning a lot and she studies WAY more than any other 13 year old, it just seems like there is not a healthy balance between school work and socialising/doing other activities and relaxing.

Difficult to say without more information - how many hours is she studying per night? Versus how much time relaxing/socialising? I’d say if she’s studying because she enjoys it, and not because she feels she has to/is stressed by it, then there’s nothing to worry about.

She studies between 3-5 hours when getting home from school and also always does a bit on the weekend and not a day went by during the summer holidays where she didn't study weekend included. Also during her "relax time" she often watches educational/documentary type series. She is absolutely under no pressure to study and is never stressed out by it, it's the opposite in fact I'm constantly nagging her to take a break and call it a night. She is quite homely and doesn't spend too much time socialising however does have a small circle of friends.

Personally I wouldn’t worry - it sounds like she genuinely enjoys it and isn’t feeling pressured into it. You say she has friends and does some socialising. I’d only worry if she seemed miserable or stressed out by it.
