EP what to ask and expect?

Have a meeting with schools EP - daughter 9 has never been assessed by them but has recently been diagnosed by CAMHs with anxiety and adhd.
Experiencing a lot of EBSA and she’s a low / sad little girl at present. 💔
Any advice on what I should I be asking from the EP?

I see you posted a while ago but came across your thread in a search.

My DD has autism and high anxiety related specifically to her science class where she is bullied by some girls. We are verging on EBSA ( every day a battle to get her to school) and school SENco, although was trying to help, was not considering how neurodiverse pupils deal with situations differently due to how they are hard wired. We’ve just seen a Psychologist privately and it was enlightening!
Your EP will need to find out what it is specifically upsetting your child/ making her anxious. Is it school generally due to adhd ( organisation/ timekeeping/ overload/ distraction etc) or is there something specific? ( A teacher, bullying, something happening?)
Depending on the outcome your child has a right to have reasonable adjustments made for them to attend school. This could be additional support with organisation, mentoring, access to study support, reduced timetable. It’s good for your DD to have an idea of what she thinks would work/ make it easier. You need to ask what they can put in place and is this something your DD can do. This is their responsibility. They need to help get your DD in school and if they don’t you can complain.
Our realisation was that the SENCo didn’t actually know enough about Autism, so although they have changed seating plans, ( made no difference) suggesting my DD found ways to ‘manage’ the situation was never going to work. This is where you need a higher level practitioner to advise yiu and the school.
I hope by now you have made some progress. It’s heartbreaking I know! The situation has had a severe impact on my DD mental health and impacted the whole family. I have felt awful for making my DD go in to school now I realise she was never going to be able to manage a situation herself/ build resilience etc. I’ve been clear about what I want to happen next and will back this up with the psychologist letter to the school.
