Zinc magnesium and B6 for ASD

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of a kids suppliment that has magnesium, zinc and b6 for my little boy.

Doesn't matter if it's pill form just after a supplement with the 3 combined. I can find it for adults but not children.

Thanks in advance.

Normally vitamins for children are either multivitamins with some minerals, vitamins ACD or vitamin D.

This is because the NHS advice is for children under 5 to take multivitamins that contain vitamins ACD, and breast fed babies need to take vitamin D.

My DD takes Well-Kid syrup for 4-12 year olds (she is 4) it has B6 and zinc in but no magnesium.

Boots own brand kids multi-vitamin - Boots Kids Daily Health A-Z Multivitamin + Minerals - 30 Chewable Tablets - has B6, zinc and magnesium.

If neither of those have the amount you need and you were advised by a doctor to supplement, then you need to go back to the doctor.

Thanks ladies. It was actually from a book optimum nutrition for the mind. My son is recently diagnosed with autism and I have read that those 3 supplements can help some of the symptoms.

He takes a multivitamin that contains B6 already. I found some chewable kids zinc and some chewable kids magnesium vitamins so will start giving those along side his usual multivitamin.

Please be careful doubling up on nutrients over more than one supplement. You want to be careful about the total amount your child is getting. Can you consult a naturopath to get things sorted?

We use the wellkid ones linked above. Much easier to only gibe kne supplement. Ds has an extremely limited diet due to both allergies and sensory issues so we were told to give a broad spectrum supplement by the dietician.

Give one even, sorry I have nail extensions on which is affecting my typing!

Thank you. I was careful to make sure that no supplements are being doubled. The multi bit contains:
A
B2
B6
B12
C
D
E

Then I have bought zinc which has 30mg vitamin C

Then I have bought magnesium which contains 50mg of magnesium and nothing else.

I suppose the vitamin C is the only one that is in two supplements. 80mg in one and 30mg in the other.

Do you think this is ok or is it best just to scrap them and place an order for the multivitamin that's been suggested on this thread that contains everything?

Thanks for your help.

Thank you. I will order those once his current multi vit run out I think.

Just want to thank you for the link. Our other vitamins have run out now and I've just placed an order for these: they look great. Even have flaxseed in them which I've heard is also beneficial for ASD. X

Hi OP, I am pursuing the same supplements for my 6yo ASD kid after advice from a naturopath. Can I ask if there was any impact on your son's behaviour?
