Any tips for dealing with PDA? I'm at the absolute end of my tether. Dd10 diagnosed with autism two years ago. The last few months things have ramped up horribly and I'm pretty sure now she has a PDA profile. Refusing to do anything I ask her, won't get ready for bed. Brush teeth, won't get ready for school. Brush hair etc.

Have you looked on the PDA society website? - it's excellent and they have a lot of videos and also training.

There are loads of Facebook pages too with discussions

There's a good book 'my daughter is not naughty' which is about a girl a similar age and for a light fictional read the book by Libby Scott (a child with PDA) 'can you see me' etc are good and might be useful for your daughter to read

Also worth looking at the explosive child - ross greene

I have a 14 yr old daughter with PDA ... it's not easy

Just found this while searching for something else. I also recommend the explosive child (book). I've also found that the 'right' school support has made a massive difference at home.
