Rocking in sleep

Hi, my 9yod has rocked in her sleep since she was around 6 months old. As she has gotten older it has worsened. We have tried several things, like no technology before bed, herbal tea, calm environments but nothing has seemed to work. When asking the doctor to see if she has autism or adhd they have dismissed it. Would anyone have any advice for me? I'm willing to try anything.

Does she have any toileting issues?
Does she do the rocking any other time or just at nighttime?

It's mainly when she is in bed. No she hasn't never had toilet issues. She my only child that hasn't been a bed wetter.

It may be her way of self soothing to get to sleep? You know how some children need to suck a thumb or need a comforter.

I was asking about toileting as my DD rocks when she is constipated, she tries to avoid opening her bowels, she has done it from around 6 months and is now 2.5

Re. ASD or ADHD, if she has other traits, it may be worth speaking to school, often schools need to make the referral to the neurodevelopmental team but this varies in different parts of the country

This is what I was thinking, but school are being reluctant, she is a very outgoing child but does suffer academically. Specially when it comes to spelling. Will speak to the school again. I have even brought her a weighted blanket to see if that would help, it does slightly.

Might be worth asking school for an assessment for any learning needs such as dyslexia. They would need to make a referral to an educational psychologist.
