Squeamishness becoming a problem

Hi

DS is 11 and has always been somewhat squeamish about anything medical or greusome but recently this has increased to the point where it's a problem. An example is that he had to leave the class the other day when they were discussing something in English about people who were deformed. We can't even discuss a friend's cat that only has one eye as he will get too distressed.
I think he needs help but I'm not sure what's best, any advice greatly appreciated.

I imagine peer pressure will take care of this within the next couple of years. In the meantime I would just be very no-nonsense about things.

Ds vomited due to a scene in Harry Potter and also at school when the teacher decide snot would be a light hearted subject at a random time 🙄

He is getting slowly more able to manage gross stuff with averting eyes or leaving the room.
