I am in desperate need.
I have a 10 yo DS who I believe needs to see a psychiatrist ASAP.
He has opened up to me this evening which I’m so proud of him for about some pretty scary feelings he’s been having.
Should I go to the gp or speak to his SENCO at school?
I’m really worried and I want to get him some help, he has asked me to help him.

That all sounds positive @Adviceneededplease9 well done

Glad to hear that, OP.

The course especially sounds a really encouraging move.

You sound a brilliant ally for your son to have in life, as well as a loving mum.

Well done!

Thank you all.
I have been to a meeting today with a few people at the school who work with my son and they are going to do a re-referral to CAMHS as they think that his asd traits that were mentioned in his adhd diagnosis may need to be looked at again to see if he in fact has autism.
I don’t know exactly how I feel about it to be honest but any help is help and although he doesn’t present as typically autistic he has allot of tendencies and they think he could be masking to a degree.
It would make sense but I’ve just always put these things down to adhd and just them being his ways.
One of the teachers wonders how the label would help or change things but my view along with the other two staff members agree that if he had a diagnosis it would help people to better understand him and how to help him and he would then understand himself more too.
