Recommendation for self help books for an anxious 7 year old?

As the title says really... I have a v anxious 7 year old. His worries are mainly about his health. He’s very secure in his relationships with family and friends and has no issues at school or with behaviour. He just worries A LOT about his health and his own mortality and that of his close family.

I’m looking for recommendations of books that I can read to educate myself in how best to help him and also books aimed at parents and children to read together that I can try.

Thanks in advance!

Amazon.co.uk

Type in ‘what to do if you worry too much’

That book is great and then you can follow the links to a whole host of other good books

Dont worry yourself, its a natural stage to go through for children that age, but its sensible to try and help them through it

I’m reading a very good book by Martin Seligman called ‘The Optimistic Child’ which might help you to help him.
I haven’t ever found any books particularly helpful for directly helping the DC themselves, other than talking about their ordinary picture books.

The Truth Pixie by Matt Haig

Little Mouse's Book of Big Fears by Emily Gravett

The 'what to do' books were recommended to my dd by camhs when she had some compulsive behaviours aged around 6. She still looks at the book now aged 11 if her 'brain gets stuck' . My kids school also do loads of mindfulness and a programme called 'I heart'. Been great for learning self help strategies.

I'm going through a similar thing with my daughter the same age. It's such a worry and a struggle to try and ensure I'm saying the right things!!

Happy to chat privately if you want to exchange tips! I am open to any ideas!
